Launched on 25th September 2014, Make in India is a transformative national program spearheaded by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
Under Make in India 2.0, the government focuses on 27 strategic sectors (15 manufacturing sectors led by DPIIT and 12 champion service sectors led by the Department of Commerce), supported by 24 identified sub-sectors designed to enhance domestic competitiveness and reduce import dependency.
