What is LCO Registration?
A Local Cable Operator (LCO) is the last-mile cable television operator in the broadcast distribution chain.
The LCO receives television channels and digital signals from a Multi-System Operator (MSO) and distributes them directly to consumer households and residential premises using coaxial or local optical cable networks.
Under the Cable Television Networks (Regulation) Act, 1995 and applicable rules, any entity intending to operate a cable television network and interact directly with consumers must obtain an official LCO registration from the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (MIB).

Creates, packages, and beams satellite television channels.
2. Multi-System Operator (MSO):
Receives satellite feeds at digital headends and manages CAS/SMS.
3. Local Cable Operator (LCO):

Important Renewal Rule:
Applications for renewal must be submitted at least 90 days before expiry on the Broadcast Seva portal to ensure uninterrupted operations.
